Aerial Lift Platforms (Scissor lifts & Booms)
This program will demonstrate proper procedures for body harnesses. Discussions will focus on the importance of regular equipment inspection, as well as identifying improper equipment operations, hazards and auditing work environments. Operators will be evaluated on both theory & practical hands on equipment demonstrations.

Asbestos Awareness
Asbestos Awareness
The course is designed to assist maintenance staff, installation & maintenance contractors, supervisors & managers to adopt safe working practices in the management of asbestos. This course is designed to increase the general awareness of asbestos within the working environment. It endeavors’ to install a sufficient level of awareness to those that can either potentially be exposed to asbestos containing materials during the course of their daily working activities or generally need to improve their knowledge of asbestos.

Asbestos Abatement Worker
All workers, including construction trades people, who perform Type 3 asbestos work as defined in Regulation 278/05 under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, must successfully complete the in-school training component of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU)-approved Asbestos Abatement Worker (AAW) Training Program.
This course covers the mandatory in-school component of the program. Upon successful completion of the course, workers will be able to write the MTCU Asbestos Abatement Worker test administered by an MTCU-recognized Test Administrator.
All participants will be provided with a full-face piece air-purifying respirator as part of the course fee.
Note: People who enter a Type-3 work area but do not perform Type-3 work are not required to complete the MTCU-approved Asbestos Abatement Program but employers are required by the Ministry of Labour to provide such individuals with asbestos hazard-awareness training.

Asbestos Abetement Supervisor
Supervisors are required to be certified to supervise Type-3 asbestos abatement work. Mandatory pre-requisites for the in-school training component of the Asbestos Abatement Supervisor program:
- Certification in the MTCU Asbestos Abatement Worker program 253W
- Supervisor Due Diligence Course
Supervisors of those workers which include construction trades people who perform Type-3 asbestos work as defined in Regulation 278/05 under the Occupational Health and Safety Act must successfully complete the in-school training component of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU)-approved Asbestos Abatement Supervisor Training Program 253S and pass the MTCU Asbestos Abatement Supervisor test.
This course covers the mandatory in-school component of the program requirements. Upon successful completion of the course, supervisors will be able to write the MTCU Asbestos Abatement Supervisor test administered by an MTCU-recognized Test Administrator.

Confined Space Hazards
Participants will be able to identify confined spaces hazards and demonstrate knowledge of legislative requirements and general procedures for confined space entry. Hazards related to confined spaces and dangerous atmospheres will be covered. Assessment and control options, monitoring strategies and entry permits will be the main focus.

Fall Protection
Many rules and regulations have been created to help workers from suffering disastrous falls. This course helps you navigate through these regulations and understand their implementation. Identifying hazards with ladders, scaffolds, and roofing as well as the importance of housekeeping in preventing falls will be taught. Learning about the various types of fall protection equipment, the "Fall Protection Plan" and the "Rescue Plan" are included in this class.

Forklift (Class I, II, III, IV & V)
This course begins with a review of the important legislation governing the operation of forklifts. An understanding of the physical principles that help a worker operate a forklift will be taught. These include concepts such as the center of gravity, stability triangle and load capacity. How to conduct a pre-shift inspection and execute emergency tipping procedures is also part of the curriculum.

Forklift Rough Terrain in Construction Class VII
Similar to the Forklift course listed above, this course begins with a review of the important legislation governing the operation of the class 7 rough terrain forklift. An understanding of the physical principles that help a worker operate a class 7 rough terrain forklift will be taught. These include concepts such as the center of gravity, stability triangle, load capacity and handling which are especially important in this type of machinery. How to conduct a pre-shift inspection and execute emergency tipping procedures is also part of the curriculum.

Industrial Batteries
This class addresses safety precautions in handling batteries on forklifts and powered pallet jacks. Special attention will be focused on personal protective equipment use and general safety rules to follow when using industrial batteries.

Industrial Racking
This class will teach employees and employers about proper vs. improper installation of industrial racking. Identifying potential hazards will also be taught as well as inspections.

Lock Out & Tag
Lock out & Tag is vital and is important to ensure employee safety. Participants will know the legal requirements for lock off and tagging, the devices to use, the steps to take, and the kinds of equipment typically involved. Topics include: Lock off and tagging in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations will be discussed. Lock off and tag planning, devices, procedures and applications will be reviewed. Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems will be covered.

Overhead Cranes, Hoisting & Rigging
Upon completion, participants will be able to demonstrate a basic knowledge of principles relating to safe hoisting and rigging practices in the construction industry. Hoisting and rigging hazards, Fiber rope, knots, and hitches will be examined. Hardware, wire rope, and slings will be reviewed. Rigging tools and devices will be accessed and Hazard awareness in crane operations.
Full attendance is mandatory. The passing grade to qualify for a certificate is 100% for hand signals, 80% for knots, and 80% for the performance review.

Propane In Construction
Special attention needs to be paid when using propane in the workplace. Regulations pertaining to their use found within the Occupational Health and Safety Act as well as the TSSA Standards Safety Authority will be reviewed. This course will focus on helping workers identify the hazards of propane, learn what personal protective equipment is required and implement emergency plans in case of an accident.

Transportation of Dangerous Goods
Whether your company transports dangerous goods frequently or only occasionally, knowing about safe transport is essential. This curriculum for this course includes topics such identifying and understanding the characteristics of dangerous goods, understanding safe transportation and handling practices, means of containment, recognizing shipping names and the use of schedules 1, 2 & 3. Also included is a review of accidental release & imminent accidental release report requirements.
Lead Poisioning Awareness
Lead poisoning is a medical condition caused by increased levels of the metal lead in the blood. Lead may cause irreversible neurological damage as well as renal disease, cardiovascular effects, and reproductive toxicity.
Humans have been mining and using this heavy metal for thousands of years, poisoning themselves in the process due to accumulation and exposure. These dangers have long been known, though the modern understanding of their full extent and the small amount of lead necessary to produce them is relatively recent; blood lead levels once considered safe are now considered hazardous, with no known threshold. Lead has also been found in some pool paint - especially those painted by lead based epoxy paint.
Participants will learn all hazards and safety awareness control regarding the use of this chemical.
