Bloodborne Pathogens
This course is designed to educate the participant on the most prevalent bloodborne pathogens in the workplace. The various modes of transmission for these pathogens will be discussed. A review of the appropriate emergency procedures in the event of an occupational exposure will be conducted. Of course, prevention is the best medicine! Therefore this course will also focus on safe handling procedures and safe housekeeping practices.

Drug and Alcohol Awareness
Although most employers and employees alike find this topic difficult to address, this course is designed to help you manage and resolve issues of drug and substance abuse in your workplace efficiently and effectively. Course topics include the cost and effects of substance abuse in the workplace, the consequences of substance abuse as an employee, ways to recognize and respond to co-workers that display symptoms of substance abuse and ways to reduce the risk of substance abuse.

Industrial & Construction Ergonomics
Ergonomics is the scientific discipline devoted to the study and analysis of human work (Mosby's Dictionary 7th Ed., 2006). Daily posture and activity, whether sitting, standing or walking, impacts our general health. Poor ergonomics leads to various muscle and joint disorders. Workplace risk factors as well as recognizing the signs and symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders are the focus of this course.

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs)
Musculoskeletal disorders are disorders involving injuries to the muscles and joints of our bodies. The majority of workplace injuries are considered musculoskeletal injuries. Whether these injuries are acute or are sustained over a period of time due to repetitive stressors, they have a profound impact on quality of life. This course will review the types of musculoskeletal disorders/injuries most prevalent in the workplace, their signs and symptoms, and how to prevent or reduce the frequency of these injuries. Preventing Back Injuries
Did you know that back pain is the second most common reason a person goes to the doctor? Back injuries are extremely common. This course is designed to help you understand the etiology of back pain, the various types of back pain injuries, the most common ways to hurt you back and how to deal with it if you do. Educating employers and employees on good posture and proper lifting technique are key parts of this course.

Standard First Aid with Heartsaver CPR (Level A & Level C)
This course is the most popular choice by business and industry for training employees. Students are advised to renew their CPR training each year. Renewal courses are available. Nationally recognized certificates, valid for three years, are issued upon successful completion. Topics include Emergency Scene Management, Choking, Severe Bleeding, Wound Care, Burns, Poisons and much more. Adult CPR will also be taught.
